Plein air painting demo – "Morning Fog"

It was a really foggy day when I painted this plein air oil painting. I usually don’t paint this type of such, but I wanted to stretch my artistic horizons. The palette I used was: Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue, Hansa Yellow Light, Napthol Red, Burnt Umber, Indanthrone Blue, Burnt Sienna, and Cadmium Yellow Medium. The challenge was creating interest by using color and contrast in strategic areas. Also…in a scene like this, it is very important to pay careful attention to your edges of shapes to create atmosphere/air in your painting. Let me know if you like the longer video format and commentary structure. Thanks for watching. Questions?…leave them in the comments.
