Digital Painting Complete Workflow on a Wacom Cintiq 22HD touch

“The Hungarian painter and photographer Krisztián Tejfel is a true advocate of digital painting: To him, drawing directly on the screen of the Cintiq 22HD touch creative display feels like working on paper or canvas – with all the advantages that digital painting has to offer. In this tutorial, Krisztian describes in detail how one of his latest portrait paintings came into being: a vintage-style portrait of a young woman.

To make the painting process both enjoyable and fast, the digital painter first adjusts the settings of Cintiq to meet his needs. Being a left-handed painter, for example, Krisztián pays special attention to the customisable buttons on the right side of the display. When fine-tuned, Cintiq can be used without a mouse or keyboard, and can be rotated, tilted and touch-controlled, just as needed.
