How To Draw A ROSE – Digital Painting with Corel Painter
Step by step instructions describe how to draw a rose using Corel Painter 2015 digital painting software and a graphics tablet. This illustration was created with Corel Painter and a Wacom Cintiq, but you can use any drawing tablet. The digital painting techniques in this lesson can be applied to Photoshop, ArtRage and many other digital and traditional art applications.
In this art tutorial, Aaron Rutten starts with a sketch to get the correct proportions of the flower. Next, each layer of the flower is separated onto it’s own layer using flat color fills to establish the shape of the rose. Form is added to the shapes using lighter and darker colors. Final touches like blending, texture and lighting effects really help the illustration become more lifelike.
