Watercolor Tips #1 – Loosening Up Exercise

Loosening up you brushwork is one of the hardest things for most watercolor artists. This exercise really helps you practice this technique. Remember not to think of it as creating a finished masterpiece. It’s just an exercise in loosening up your brush work. Have fun!

I was recently asked what brush I am using. This was a Jean Haines Kolinsky brush #10 which I won in a challenge by the artist on using the color yellow. The results were in Painters Online magazine.
