Plein air painting demo – "Morning Shadows"

I tried something new in this plein air adventure. Before I used this panel,I primed it with a primer spray paint. I heard about some artists doing this and thought I’d try it. Never again ! I felt it was way too absorbent and in combination with using liquin as my medium, the paint tacked up too fast. Live and learn. Even though I painted the barn straight on with no perspective, I still think it works because of the building on the right adding some perspective. I painted this in the early morning, so the shadows shifted fast. This is why I use an umber sketch most of the time…to quickly set the shadow patterns. Thanks for watching! Questions?…leave them in the comments.
