Plein air painting demo – "Junction Road II"
This oil painting video shows you how I create a landscape using a limited palette. This painting is another viewpoint from Junction Rd., which is not too far from my house. The oil colors I used in this painting were: Titanium white, Ultramarine blue, Hansa yellow light, Napthol red, and Burnt umber. This is the third painting I’ve done from this road…lots of potential. I painted the piece on a canvas board that I glued to a masonite panel to give it rigidity since the canvas board was only 1/16″ thick. I only used turps. to thin my paint when needed. Most of the time I use linseed oil or similar medium to paint with. I hoped you enjoyed the video. Questions?…leave them in the comments below.
