making time for art ☆

My thoughts and feelings on actively choosing art and creativity even when it’s really difficult. As a mum of 3 little ones it can get very overwhelming at times trying to find and make time to follow my own passions. But being creative is so important to me, which is why it will always remain a constant in my life even when it’s hard. It is where I find joy within myself, experience so much personal growth, and express myself the most fluently.
When it gets so hard that I want to give up, that’s usually when I need to try something new or make a big change or shift in my life or my outlook, in order to persevere once again. It doesn’t matter to me how slow my process is as long as I do not stop.

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I find time to do art? the best I can explain it is that to me it’s one of my main priorities, I choose it over almost everything except my family. Even sleeping and eating will take a back seat if they need to for an hour or two. To me it’s a coping mechanism and always been a vital part of my life.
I hope you are able to make art a priority in yours too. Ask for help if you need a break, reach out to someone close to you if you have the support system. Use creativity to uplift yourself. Get lost in making something.. you can make your own magic. X
