MAKING MISTAKES IN ART | Using Color Pencils on Black Paper

Hi everyone,

I wanted to start a series called Art Chat, where you can watch a time-lapse of me creating some art work, and I can chat with you about my art life.

Have you ever been scared to make a mistake when creating your art? Have you never practiced a technique because you were afraid of making mistakes?

I believe it’s totally ok to make mistakes in art. To me, art is about the journey, the discovery, that moment where everything comes together! I’m always searching for that moment when I start a new drawing or painting. It’s so satisfying when I finish a piece of artwork and see how much I’ve grown creatively.

My advice is don’t be scared to make a mistake. You won’t ever grow as an artist if you never practice your skills. If you allow fear to take over, you’ll never progress. It’s a vicious cycle you’ll end up in and it will only anchor you down instead of lifting you up! Your art won’t progress unless you finally take that leap and try!
