D.K.Richardson Portraits Paintings using Verdaccio
“Verdaccio” is an Italian word for Green. Green paint is used to create a tonal underpainting. When the underpainting is completed, it looks like a “black & white” photo only in dark & light greens. The green reduces the overpowering red and pink color glazes on top of the green to give more life-like flesh. It is a very beautiful Renaissance Masters’ Technique.
