Poppies: acrylic painting for beginners – Jane Font
In this video, we’re gonna get together and learn how to paint impressionist poppies with palette knives. This is a good lesson for beginners and up.
I’m painting on a 12×16-inch stretched canvas, but you can paint on any type and size of canvas you like.
The used:
• A 1-inch flat brush
• A small pointed palette knife
• A 2 1/2-inch narrow palette knife
• You’ll also need an extra paper towel
I’m using Liquitex Basics acrylic paints in the following colors:
• Titanium White
• Burnt Umber
• Mars Black
• Cadmium Red Deep Hue
• Naphthol Crimson (can substitute Cadmium Red Medium Hue)
• Cadmium Yellow Deep Hue
But you can use any colors you like.
