Plein Air Painting – Looks Like Christmas
So, It definitely Looks Like Christmas around here. I actually have learned to love painting in the snow. Oil paint works really well so no problems there when snow gets on the canvas. I have to use a little more turps or medium in the winter as the paint acts thicker. No worries though! Theres nothing like capturing a snow as its happening. This is a 30 Minute Pochade Sketch 5×7 oil on canvas panel.
I prime my panels with a mid tone gray. Basically a mixture of Ultramarine Blue and Yellow Ocher. It allows me to either easily start with dark tones or highlights.
