Painting realistic glass, whiskey and clementine demonstration by Aleksey Vaynshteyn

This is an oil on board painting of a glass of whiskey and a clementine. It’s 6×8 inches and it took me about an hour to complete. And yes, I waited until I finished the painting to drink the whiskey.

This video shows my entire painting process, from initial sketch with burnt umber to blocking out the darks and lights, to the finishing details and highlights. This painting is a good demonstration of how to paint realistic glass and liquid with loose, quick brush strokes.
