Painting Mallorca – Watercolour Landscape – Geoff Kersey


This subject is quite different to all the others we have done so far, and presents a unique set of challenges.

I was particularly drawn to the warm, textured stone-work and the way the various plants and pots served to create variety and softened the hard edges of the architectural detail.

The key to getting this one to look realistic is the use of shadows to make the doors and windows appear recessed, and it is particularly important to make sure you are totally happy with the drawing and perspective, before applying any paint.
