Gouache Techniques: Tiling, Grisaille, and Mid-tone Methods

Here are 3 leaves, all the same one and painted in gouache, but using different painting methods–mid-tone, Tiling, or Grisaille. I only spent about 35 minutes painting all 3, and I could have worked on them further, but I wanted to only demo the various methods. You can achieve more or less detailed results yourself depending on how much time you put into any of the 3 methods, just be aware of choosing the best method for a particular painting. (For example, grisaille is time-consuming and can be avoided for simpler paintings with fewer tones.)
