Watch me try to get my Michelangelo on! Doing studies from the Old Masters is a great way to expand your figure drawing knowledge. But it helps to have an idea of what it is you want to gain from each study you’re going, instead of blindly copying.
My figure drawing instructor Karl Gnass (http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqsUuq1flkAJ4Dgp4PgS8Bg) recommended the books of Robert Beverly Hale, as an excellent collection of some of history’s finiest drawings.
The book I’m working from in this video is Anatomy Lessons from the Great Masters. And it lives up to the hype.
