At Sotheby’s first fine art auction in Beijing, the painting ‘Abstraction’ by Chinese artist Zao Wou-ki sold for more than twice its estimated value. But Sotheby’s wouldn’t reveal whether it managed to find a buyer for the Rembrant painting on offer. Tom Griggs reports
