During the past four years, Thomas Kitts’ awards include Pacific North West Plein Air Award third place in 2015; and Telluride Honorable mention TPA Award 2015; the Laguna Beach Plein Air Painters Invitational Mathewson Family Foundation Award 2014; Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational Artists’ Choice Award 2013; Carmel, CA, Arts Festival Best of Show and Mayor’s Choice Award 2011; Plein Air Easton’s Best New Artist 2011; Plein Air Curacao Best International Artist 2011; as well as Los Gatos Plein Air second Place and numerous Honorable Mentions; and multiple Raymar Art and Plein Air Magazine Salon Finalist awards.
Mr. Kitts was featured as an Artist to Watch by The Informed Collector and was invited to participate in several Maui Plein Air Painting Invitationals where he won the Pioneer Inn Quickdraw Competition. He was guest lecturer at three Plein Air Convention & Expos in Monterey, California; was awarded a twelve month Artist Residency from the University Club of Portland; and he leads painting workshops around the world.
