Where to start color pencils: Making 100’s of colors from only 12 pencils.
So you want to start experimenting with colour pencils… but you don’t have hundreds of dollars to pay for a full set? It’s ok!! You can create nearly any color you can imagine from just a basic 12 pack of artist grade color pencils!
In this video I show you a quick example of just some of the possible colours you could create from the basic set of polychomos or prismacolor pencils, and I let you watch over my shoulder as I try to match some completely random colour samples, so you can see my approach to color mixing with color pencils.
