Teach Yourself to Draw – the Atelier Method – Florent Farges
French Artist Florent Farges explain how you can teach yourself to draw following the Atelier method.
This video is the first of a series of tutorials in which we are going to talk about how you can teach yourself to draw using a method inspired by the Atelier teachings.
Here’s how this new series is going to work:
• Independent episodes: Each episode covers a specific issue but they’re all independent from each other.
• Self-teaching: For each episode, I’ll focus on things you can do to learn on your own and check your progression yourself.
• Follow-along: If you want, you can do the exercise with me by downloading the resources on my website (you’ll find a link in the description below). You just have to print the model and follow the instructions.
This first video is kind of an introduction in which I’ll share the methods I have been using in the past to practice drawing and painting on my own and that I still use every once in a while to keep my skills sharp. I’ll alternate between drawing and painting episodes. The next episodes will have a more technical, step by step approach, but since this is the first one, I think it’s important to cover all the points that can help you get started successfully.
