Making a 12" Figure Armature (the 3 minute armature)
The 3 minute armature, using a piece of A4 paper, 6ft (180cm) of thin aluminium armature wire you can make a simple scaled figure armature to 1/6th scale (12″).
3.17mm Square Aluminium wire is used in this example, thinner gauges of steel galvanised or soft copper wires can be used.
With such a close link between the golden section and body proportions it is possible to scale armatures up or down using standard paper stock sizes like A3, A2, A1 etc. and using different gauges of wire accordingly.
