Sketching, inking, coloring and printing it on a big banner.
It is not a tutorial but probably gives a fairly good understanding of the process.
Created by cartoonist Jeroen van Rossum on a Wacom Cintiq 22HD interactive pendisplay. Sketched in Autodesk Sketchbook Express 2011, inked in Adobe Illustrator CS 5.1, colored and finished in Adobe Photoshop CS 5.1, layout in Adobe Indesign CS 5.5.
