Berthe Morisot, History’s Forgotten Impressionist

Berthe Morisot was one of the founding members of the Impressionists and a true innovator amongst a talented group, so why is it that her peers have risen to fame much more prominently than she has? Her works are truly breathtaking, and in this video, we will take a closer look at one of her most famous pieces—”Woman at Her Toilette.” The motif of her choice was women; at all stages of their lives. As a woman herself, she could access the private moments of the females around her and painted them without taking away their power, without objectifying them, as was done by her fellow artists.
