Beginners guide – Preparing Your Drawing Tools
How to prepare and set your drawing tools. Video tutorial by Whitney McCrary.
Whitney McCrary received her BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005 before continuing her education at the Academy of Classical Design in North Carolina.
The academy is an intensive drawing, painting, and mural program modeled after 19th century French Academies and influenced by Renaissance humanist philosophy.
She later became an instructor at the academy, spent time studying in Paris as an artists assistant, and studied with classically trained artists across the United States.
Her work is inspired by the quality and ideals of past masters, historical methods and materials, with an emphasis on aesthetics and imagination.
Whitney is an instructor at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
She teaches credit courses to degree students as well as a number of continuing education courses including Classical Drawing Techniques and Perspective Drawing.
