Importance of Color Temperature | Warm & Cools In Painting & Art

Temperature is relative, like most things in painting. Once I started thinking in terms of warm and cool, I noticed my landscape became much richer in color. Most artists think in terms of value and end up creating light in their painting that is quite too cool. A lot of the time, making a color lighter won’t necessarily make it brighter but rather, it cools it down. What must be done is that the color must be warmed up – with yellow and red hues.
